About Me

I’m a former aerospace engineer with a B.S. in Astronomy and Physics, a background in acting and performance arts, and a burgeoning love for gluten-free baking, who’s always had a passion for photography. Oh, and most importantly, Mom to two fantastic and exhausting little boys. Yep, that’s me in a gluten-free nutshell. :)

I’ve always loved taking pictures of beauty – sunsets, vistas and landscapes where I’ve traveled. And then I became a mom… Like so many things that grow and change with having children, my love of photography took on new meaning when my husband and I had our two boys, and I began to try to capture their beautiful (even if often sticky) little faces in shadows and light. Suddenly, PEOPLE were the important parts of my pictures! My kids have grown and changed so fast, and looking back, I’m so glad to have caught those fleeting moments! Memory is a time machine, and photography helps us travel!

I love to shoot outdoors in natural light, and my style is very simple, natural and “organic” – I prefer to capture genuine moments rather than to create them. My typical session does have some posed shots, but often kids and babies have other plans! Many of my favorite shots are spontaneous gems that arose just from a family interacting and being themselves.

True to my roots behind the camera, I still love photographing nature, from the very small scale, to the very large, to the astronomical! Currently two of my landscape/sky  photographs are on display at the Tohono Chul Park art gallery. All of my fine art photography is available for purchase in various prints and products – please see “Order a Print”.

Over the past five years I’ve grown immensely as a self-taught photographer, and I never stop learning, evolving, and perfecting my craft!

I would love to capture a moment in time for your family!
